5 of the best things to do in Cornwall this Easter

Easter is fast approaching and many will be thinking of heading to the South West for a much needed break and some fresh air. But is there anything to do in Cornwall at this time of year? Has the Duchy awoken from its long winter slumber? Well, here's five things that are certainly on and worth a visit...

Padstow Easter Egg Roll

The annual Easter egg roll is an event that has been taking place for years in Padstow and all proceeds are collected for the RNLI. A fun gathering for all the family, this traditional event takes place on Easter Sunday morning and involves rolling an easter egg down Duke Street in the centre of town. All eggs must be handmade, designed at home and brought along to the event on the day. As if that wasn’t enough fun, there are also prizes to be won in the accompanying raffle!

Easter at Eden

Celebrate the joys of Spring, take on playful challenges with the family and learn about becoming a more sustainable planet at Cornwall's #1 attraction, the Eden Project. Explore the great outdoors and giant biomes whilst enjoying family-friendly games, crafts and workshops. With competitions to be entered, prizes to be won, and an environmental education in the background, Easter at Eden has something for everybody. A fun way to learn how we can all contribute towards a healthier planet.

Spring Animals on the Farm

There’s nothing more certain to keep kids entertained than a petting farm with fluffy sheep, cute chicks and little bunnies running about, and Cornwall has lots of them scattered around the Duchy. One such Petting Farm Close to our offices here at Home and Bay is Old Macdonald’s Farm near Porthcothan Bay where kids can enjoy Animal Tours, Pony and Goat Experiences and Animal Experiences. Another great farm with a laid back feel is Trevathan Farm near St Minver where parents can enjoy coffee and cake while kids can feed the Guinea Pigs, experience tractor rides and run off steam in the large playpark.

The World-famous Camel Trail

The Camel Trail is an 18-mile former railway line which has provided the perfect gently sloping surface now enjoyed annually by millions of cyclists, hikers and leisurely dog walkers alike. Running through stunning Cornish countryside alongside the river Camel, the trail begins in Padstow and takes in Wadebridge and Bodmin before concluding at Wenford Bridge near St Breward on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Of course, you can start at Wenford Bridge if you like, or even Bodmin or Wadebridge, there are cafes, picnic areas and places to rent bikes at all of these points of interest. A lovely, relaxing day out for all the family.

Hit the Beach

What better way to enjoy Cornwall than exploring one of our many Blue Flag beaches? We are very lucky that Home and Bay’s office is located near Padstow as right on our doorstep is the famous “Seven bays for seven days” stretching down the Northwest coast of Cornwall. Some of the best, cleanest and most picturesque beaches you will find anywhere in the UK, they are made up of Harlyn, Trevone Bay, Hawker’s Cove, Constantine, Porthcothan, Bedruthan Steps and Daymer Bay.
