Maybe it’s the unique blends of wax and fragrance to ensure a consistent aroma, superior burn quality and beautiful appearance. Maybe it’s the combination of mineral and vegetable waxes blended together to achieve a mix that gives superior performance, stability and reliability, and a fabulous scent throw. Or maybe it’s the combination of traditional and contemporary methods including Drawing, Pouring and Moulding so that each candle is made with a personal touch to ensure superior quality in style, fragrance and burn. Whatever the secret, there is one thing that is for certain – almost everybody loves St Eval’s Bay and Rosemary Candle... so how do they do it?
Step 1. Drawing
St Eval’s first drawing machine was made by German engineers in the 1940's and was a triumph in efficient, traditional manufacturing. So much so, St Eval sourced a local engineer to create a copy of the model so that they could have two running simultaneously.
Step 2. Pouring
The next stage of the process is to pour their unique blend of wax and fragrance into all shapes of pots, tins and tealights. The wicks are fixed to the base of the vessels and wax poured in gradually, allowed to set and then gently topped up. Care is taken during this process to ensure a consistent and superior burn, with no air pockets or fragrance reduction, therefore enhancing the candle experience.
Step 3. Moulding & Quality Control
Once Moulding has taken place, the candles undergo a rigorous testing process to ensure that the careful science and art of combining the wax, wick and fragrance is crafted for a safe, high quality and consistent burn. St Eval are members of the British Candle Makers Federation and are constantly looking to raise the bar on candle manufacturing standards.
So, there you have it, British fine candle making at its best. And if you don’t believe how good they are, why not try one for yourself? We promise you won’t be disappointed! Click here to see our full range of Home Fragrances including the St Eval Bay and Rosemary Candle
